Hypercomplex cosine

Here we start exploring Povray's julia fractal:

algebra type: hypercomplex

function type: cosine

The pattern of the surface is interesting whichiswhy I started a test series to see how that pattern changes.

The cut doesn't reveal anything too exciting except that it produces a ghost image of the cut (see image first row right).

At the moment I have no explanation for this weird behavior!
