Ever heard of Aristid Lindenmayer? Me neither!
Until in 1996 a hint led me to Laurens Lapré's website.
On his website you could find a freeware program for MS DOS called LParser and images that demonstrated what you can do with it.
(Should you be interested search Internet Archive).
And it did a lot of neat things like creating plants, animals and geometric structures all based on a syntax consisting of letters and symbols you could generate
with a text editor. It had some output options to get dxf or raw files and inc files for Povray version 2.
The images below were created by feeding the Lparser output to Moray and/or Povray
(Sounds easy but it needs a lot of tweaking and converting).
I added some new images produced in the 2020ies marked with an asterisk*.
