The pages you will find here have ' A Brief History in Time' - I used the title of Stephen Hawkings' book.
I always wondered why nobody tried to use such a versatile program like Povray to implement features that this MS DOS program called Lparser (see Lparser page) had 'eons' ago.
In the Povray forums I found that Paolo Gibellini did exactly that - in 2013! It was a 2D version but it worked remarkably well although it had some limitations.
I ask in the Povray General forum about the 'why' and the 'why not' and Ingo Janssen jumped on that 'train'. Eagle-eyed and lightning-fast he coded a 'proof of concept' 2D version which worked flawlessly. But as he did not want to open a new 'rabbit hole' he refrained from a further development.
Then Tor Olav Kristensen 'delved' into that 'rabbit hole'. And that was the 'game changer'!
He developed a perfectly working 2D inc-file with all the features needed. And furthermore, his code was clearly structured that even an ignorant like me could add some features I needed.
I added a little bit of code which produced an .inc file with all the spheres and cylinders.
And now the 'icing on the cake': he is working on a 3D
version!
Not yet public - let's be patient.
