Have you ever wondered when seeing a fractal image how that thing might look like in 3D?
Here you get the chance to look behind the 'scenes'. And this here will knock you off the rocker!
I recently came across Paul Nylander's website at http://www.bugman123.com.
He showed stunning images of hypercomplex fractals and he even published some Povray code.
I could not hold myself back and used his code to see what Povray will make out of it. For images with odd pow-values I adapted his code but I am not sure whethter the result is correct.
But before you go and start using his Povray code a word of warning:
- Trace time on an AMD Ryzen 7 Eight-Core 3.7 GHz with 16 GB RAM is around 2 hours. Sometimes even more!
Happy tracing and happy nightmares!
